Why the Blog?

UPDATE: I WAS keeping this blog up as an assignment for my Organizational Communication class, but the class ended in July 2011, and I couldn't stand the thought of deserting my blog forever. So I'm still here. It's still here. And apparently you're still here :)

Here's what this section used to say:
Essentially, we were supposed to pick a project to work on throughout the semester that could relate to the class and to our specific major. We were supposed to pick something that we knew we would enjoy, yet a project that would help us become more valuable in our chosen field.
I chose to start, carry out and continuously improve upon a blog.

In several of my Communication classes, my teachers have stressed the impact of social media on our culture today. Blogging especially has become much more prominent in recent years. A few weeks ago, I didn't know the first thing about blogging, so I decided to learn more about it as part of my project.

Another thing I hope to accomplish from this project is to become a more effective communicator through my writing. I feel like writing is not one of my strong points, so this will give me plenty of much needed practice and confidence.

I've actually thoroughly enjoyed this assignment thus far and have learned much. I'm sure I'll continue to learn more, suggestions are always welcome :)
